Newcastle Suns Football Club have had some unlucky turn of events in the last 3 to 4 weeks.
Head Coach has been absent during this time due to personal reasons. Our best wishes go to Pol Krstevski and his Family and we hope for a speedy return to our Football Club by Pol.
Suns have had Committee Members Chris Velovski and Robert Dzurovski absent overseas and President of the Club has been away ill. Many thanks to Peter Dragarski, Nick Cocomanovski, Steven Zulumovski, Tony Kalesovski, Tony Tanchevski and Canteen Helpers Sphie and Dime for their efforts.
Suns have also sufferred lots of injurires due to so many games being played so close together after all the wash outs, it was a major turning point in our season as we looked unstoppable after the Demolition Job on Plattsburg at Novocastrian Park before the storms.
I am Sure Coach John Beleff will rally the team and finish the season strongly. From a position of securing the Minor Premiership we now have 1st Grade in 4th spot fighting to hang on to a Semi-Final Spot. GO THE SUNS.
Congratulations to 3rd Grade Coach Nick Cocomanovski securing a Semi -Final Spot and currently sitting in 2nd spot.

Suns played a very strong Nelson Bay side. The game was very evenly matched. The Suns were level at 2 - 2 with a fine goal to Sash Micevski & a well taken free kick to John Beleff. With the introduction of Robert (Kala) Kolarovski, Goce (Chucky) Stojkovski, and Steven (SS) Stefanovski the Suns started to dominate play and these 3 players really turned the game and made a big impact when they came onto the field. The Suns were creating more chances through their dominate play and SS missed an easy chance in front of goal which would have given the Suns a 3 - 2 lead. The Suns kept pushing forward looking for the winning goal. Against the run of play with only minutes to go Nelson Bay scored 2 good goals from good counter attacking play. With alot of boys away and the likes of Steven (Bibby) Kacev, Steven (Zulu) Zulumovski, Steven (Giant) Stojkovski, Robert (Chooky) Kantarovski, Vasco Apostolovski & Goal Scoring Sensation Ace Jovanovski due to come back into the side the Suns will be in for a very strong season 2008. With SS stepping up to first grade after having a fantastic season in front of goal in the lower grades last year, SS should really cause some damage in front of goal for 1st grade.

Registrar: James Soldas
Season 2007 and in particular season 2008 were among the most difficult years for the Newcastle Suns, due to the inability to secure a regular Home Ground, limited people involved in the Committee and losing some key players.
But more importantly the Club has survived and we now have some of the Younger Generation involved. The committee also has some experienced guys involved and with alot more younger players coming to the club, we should see the Suns start to build again as a successful football club.
